If you haven't experimented with the new Create Entries page, it works well for me on mobile. The page to turn it on is https://www.dreamwidth.org/beta
Before that was available, I used the mobile post page: https://www.dreamwidth.org/mobile/post (There were some problems with it for a while, but those seem to have been fixed.) It's extremely stripped down without even an icon selection option, but it does allow choice of security and own-journal or community.
